Top place for netball squad

A group of TCS students representing Tu Toa won the Lower North Island Netball Tournament held in Gisborne last week and will now represent the region at the New Zealand secondary schools national tournament.

Six players from the team were also named in the tournament team of 12 players. The students are Brooke Leaver, Renee Matoe, Sheridan Bignall, Lauretta Rooney-Cribb, Starsia Scott-Tipuna and Whitney Cassidy.

Sheridan was also named as mid-court player of the tournament and the most valuable player.

The secondary schools competition will take place in Timaru next month.

Tu Toa is an educational initiative based in Palmerston North which has 30 students in Years 9-13 who study with TCS.
